Executive Director, John McGah, MSPA
John McGah, MSPA, is the founder and Executive Director of Give Us Your Poor. A Senior Research Associate at UMass Boston’s Center for Social Policy, he is an acknowledged expert on issues of homelessness. John is a 2002 International Eisenhower Fellowship recipient. He speaks nationally on homelessness issues and has met with Eastern and Western European leaders and activists on homelessness. He works closely with community leaders in Massachusetts and across the United States developing relationships with national homeless organizations; shelter directors and staff; homelessness advocates; nationally known scholars; and city, state and federal policy makers.
Communications Director, Maureen M. Wrinn
Maureen M. Wrinn has more than fifteen years of communication experience helping non-profit educational institutions and for-profit organizations with messaging and strategy. She is a skilled communicator and the published author and editor of more than sixteen books and numerous articles for national trade publications. Prior to joining Give Us Your Poor, she acted as a consultant to corporations and dynamic individuals to help facilitate and communicate ideas into cohesive, understandable, and implementable actions. Ms. Wrinn was a pioneer in Internet privacy ethics while at Healthvision, Inc.
Chief Financial Officer (Volunteer)
Larry LaFranchi has 30 years of senior executive management experience in organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. He has successfully led international technology and market leaders in both manufacturing and service industries during periods of rapid growth, meeting the challenges of building companies while achieving profitable results. Larry recently completed a successful assignment as President of Solar Electric Light Company ("SELCO"), a venture-capital-backed start-up that raised $7.0 million to develop the market for distributed power in countries lacking reliable grid electricity. Previously, Larry spent 20 years at Analog Devices (ADI), a leading global supplier of semiconductors, where he held senior executive positions including that of controller at the division, group and corporate levels. Prior to ADI, he functioned as a business unit controller for Texas Instruments. Larry holds a BS in Engineering from UCLA and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.
Operations Director (Volunteer)
Gabriel Miller brings nearly twenty years of business, legal and non-profit experience building successful organizations. Mr. Miller is the COO and General Counsel of STORS Digital Retail Network, a Show & Tell company. STORS is a media company providing digital signage management and content solutions to retailers across the country. Prior to joining STORS, Mr. Miller was at Captivate Network, a media company, as General Counsel, while also serving as the chief Human Resources, Facilities and Insurance/Risk Management. He spent almost a decade at Fleet Bank serving as General Counsel of Fleet Real Estate Capital, a servicer and originator of commercial loans with over $2 billion of assets under management. While at Fleet, Mr. Miller also served as Senior Vice President/Senior Counsel, responsible for all legal issues related to Fleet’s several thousand domestic and international facilities. Mr. Miller is an active volunteer and fundraiser for various non-profits.
