Partnering Out of the Box Boston Homeless Service Providers and National Public Awareness Project Form Unique partnership to Fight Homelessness The documentary, curriculum, and community outreach program "Give Us Your Poor: Homelessness & the United States" is kicking off a unique partnership with the Friends of Boston’s Homeless at a Boston reception Tuesday evening, 6-8pm, at Boston’s trendy Sweetwater Café on Boylston Street. The Give Us Your Poor project, based at UMass Boston, aims to create a revolution in public awareness of the structural causes of homelessness to stimulate real, effective solutions. Project components include developing a documentary, educational materials, a companion CD and community organizations to change how America views its homeless. Give Us Your Poor is based at UMass Boston. The Friend’s of Boston’s Homeless are the fundraising and permanent housing arm of the City’s Long Island Shelter. The partnership is unique in that it brings together direct service providers making a recognized impact in the City of Boston sheltering Boston’s most difficult to serve homeleless people, with a public a nation outreach campaign. The collaboration brings together two innovative curriculum components, fundraising capacity, and unique networks and boards to each organization.
